Frederik van Durme presents a clinical case focusing on a complex cardiorenal syndrome in a 78-year-old patient with a history of atrial fibrillation, VVI pacemaker implantation, and progressive heart failure culminating in systemic congestion and declining renal function.
The patient exhibits biventricular failure and significant atrioventricular valve regurgitation. Management included aggressive diuretic therapy, hemodynamic assessment via right heart catheterisation, and surgery comprising CABG, mitral and tricuspid valve repair, and CRT implantation. Follow-up showed significant clinical improvement and stable heart failure management.
