The video presents a clinical case of a 35-year-old male lymphoma survivor who developed severe cardiovascular complications many years after mediastinal radiotherapy. The patient exhibits complex multivessel coronary artery disease including acute inferior STEMI and dual chronic total occlusions (CTOs).
The discussion focuses on the multidisciplinary management strategy optimising percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI) and guideline-directed medical therapy (GDMT) for heart failure. Key points include the impact of radiation-induced cardiovascular disease, the use of cardiac MRI for viability assessment, and the importance of combining revascularisation with aggressive medical therapy leading to recovery of cardiac function.
